Coronavirus update - Caergybi

Bore da, firstly I hope you're all keeping well.

We're living in a strange time and there is much concern here in our community in Holyhead.

I'd like to say DIOLCH to the Caergybi Covid-19 volunteer group who are working so hard for this town, I'm delighted to help them but I'm one of many more. I'd like to say DIOLCH also to fellow London Rd Town Cllr Keith Thomas for his assistance and also Glyn Haynes for assisting on a few issues.

You're not alone, people are here to help. Don't be too proud to reach out. In the hour of darkness the only light we have is our kindness.

STAY HOME! STAY SAFE!

It is worth remembering that people aren't alone during this challenging time. There is a Caergybi Covid-19 Volunteer Group.

Congratulations to the organisers. Remember the lights switch on and other events in Holyhead on Saturday the 30th!

For residents of London Rd I'm putting together a newsletter to send out ASAP.

Codi Sbwriel - Litter Picking

Great fun was had by all during our latest litter picking session on London Road. We visited Ffordd Feurig, Ffordd Jasper, Ffordd Hirnos, Llanfawr Road, Marchog, Gilbert St, Cecil St and Wian Street - it was quite hectic and all in one hour.

I've reported larger items of bulky waste to the County Council to be removed, the car park behind Craig y Wylan seems to be a real trouble-spot.

Diolch o galon i Gladys Pritchard a Rosemary Heaney o Ferched y Wawr am ymuno efo ni - pleser go iawn oedd cael cwmni y ddwy ohonoch.

We'll be litter picking again soon and Clwb Hoffi Coffi will be restarting also, I will inform people regarding dates.

Diolch eto! Thanks again!

London Road News

Bore da!

It has been a busy time recently for everyone it seems. Firstly, I would like to thank residents on London Road for passing on their concerns regarding suspected drug taking at the London Road Park. This information was immediately passed to the Town Council who subsequently passed it on to the police. I would like to thank the Town Council for their prompt response!

Ongoing issue of littering/fly-tipping!!!

Sadly this is a recurring issue. Again I'd like to thank residents for passing on their concerns. Credit to the staff at Ynys Mon County Council, they have responded quickly to concerns raised in the past. Going forward a long term solution is needed. The constant fly-tipping is making the area we live ugly, I'm aware this isn't a London Road issue but if does seem to be worse here than in other areas.

Resident has approached me with possible ideas such as gating off the lanes behind Lligwy St, Henry St and Garden Place. I'm more than happy to pass on these ideas. Another suggestion has been a communal skip - almost an amnesty and chance to get ride of large bulky items. I'm aware the County Council now charges for pick up etc. I often wonder if sending out the van to parts of Holyhead alone covers the cost residents pay. If you have any suggestions please feel free to drop me a message.

On a positive, a long term solution has been found regarding the rubbish in the garages at the top of Lligwy Street. Residents had expressed concerns of safety and anti-social behaviour. I'm grateful to everyone for their support.

Digwyddiadau - Events

Clwb Hoffi Coffi - Boreau coffi/Coffee mornings

Well, Clwb Hoffi Coffi is underway. In essence Clwb Hoffi Coffi is a coffee morning held at London Road Seniors Club. The club is open for anyone to attend. The aim is to get people out and communicating with others. Also, there is an opportunity for those who attend to practice their Welsh skills in a relaxed and informal environment. A big DIOLCH to Ann Sperry for allowing us to use the centre on London Road.

The next bore coffi will be on Saturday the 28th of April 10am-12pm. Then the 12th of May. All for free!

LRLP - London Road Litter Pickers

LRLP goes from strength to strength with new members having joined us recently. We collected 10 bags of discarded rubbish at the park on London Road - its such a shame that people find the need to throw rubbish at will at the expense of the area and environment. I'd like to thank everyone for their support. The club is also a great way to socialise and get people out and about, feel free to join us - especially with the weather being warmer.

The next Litter Picking session will be on Sunday the 29th of April 2pm-3pm - we'll be meeting by Craig y Wylan on London Road!

London Road Newsletter

The London Road Newsletter has been distributed to most of the ward, apologies if you haven't had a copy yet one will be with you asap.
